A High-Profile Collab for the Original Sneaker Marketplace

Being the original sneaker resale marketplace is nice. But these days, there’s fresh competition, and Sneakerheads were thinking of eBay as just another platform, instead of being a source for creativity within the culture. Instead of focusing on another routine drop that every other reseller carried, the brand needed a high-profile collaboration with someone deeply respected in the community.

We could have jumped on the hype cycle by creating just another sneaker collab, but instead of making one special sneaker, we wanted to make every sneaker, in any rotation, feel special.

Blue The Great x eBay Sneakers

eBay partnered with multi-disciplinary artist, Blue The Great, to create a first-of-its-kind sneaker display, turning any pair, new or old, grail or general release, into a work of art. And we dubbed it “The Final Touch.” This unique drop idea + campaign narrative broke through the category noise to generate conversation, create anticipation and ultimately, grew consideration of eBay as a reputable leader in Sneaker culture. Never before had people been able to display their pickups in such an iconic way.
