The Many Celebrates AAPI Heritage Month with a Vibrant Month-Long Cultural Celebration
In a powerful display of unity, creativity, and cultural appreciation, The Many wrapped up a vibrant and immersive month-long celebration in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. Spearheaded by the company’s AAPI Employee Resource Group (ERG), the campaign was not only a celebration of heritage—it was a call to curiosity, connection, and community.
A Heartfelt Kickoff
The celebration began with an enthusiastic kickoff message: “Happy AAPI Month! ❤️🔥 Excited to kick off the month-long celebration from us at The Many’s AAPI ERG!” The announcement came with a beautifully designed visual identity created by The Many’s talented designer Mia, setting the tone for a campaign that fused artistry and authenticity. The internal communications encouraged employees to engage with the stories shared by ERG members, deepening understanding and cultural empathy across the agency.

Sharing Stories, Sparking Conversations
At the heart of the month was storytelling. The ERG team invited colleagues to take a moment to read about their backgrounds and experiences, emphasizing a key message: “We encourage you to talk to ERG members about their stories and culture.” This open-door approach sparked meaningful conversations around heritage, identity, and personal journeys—bringing faces and names to the rich tapestry that makes up The Many’s workforce.
AAPI Sounds: A Spotify Takeover
Music has long been a vessel for cultural expression, and The Many’s AAPI team curated a powerful Spotify playlist featuring a wide range of Asian and Asian-American artists. From K-pop and Bollywood hits to indie darlings and traditional sounds, the playlist celebrated the sonic diversity of the continent. Employees were encouraged to listen, vibe, and—most importantly—ask questions and start conversations.

Hands-On Culture: Calligraphy Class
On May 13, the agency hosted two sessions of an interactive Chinese calligraphy class led by Mint, a member of the AAPI ERG. Each session began with a brief introduction to the art form’s deep historical roots, followed by an accessible hands-on workshop where attendees learned to write Chinese characters. It was a beautiful, tactile reminder of the beauty embedded in tradition, language, and expression.
When someone voluntarily invests their time and effort in your brand, something transformative happens. They don't just like you more. They start thinking of you as theirs.

A Culinary Celebration: Asian Night Market
The celebration reached a flavorful peak on May 21 with an immersive, two-hour lunch takeover designed to mimic an Asian night market. Featuring food, snacks, and beverages from across the diverse cultures represented in the ERG, the lunch included a “passport stamp card” to encourage employees to try dishes from every culture present. It was a joyful, delicious expression of community, with every bite offering a story and a conversation.

Supporting the Local AAPI Community: Sawtelle Food Crawl
As the month drew to a close, The Many kept the energy going with a grassroots-style Food Crawl on May 29. Employees curated a list of their favorite AAPI-owned restaurants around the Sawtelle area and visited them together, turning an ordinary Thursday into a walking celebration of flavor, entrepreneurship, and solidarity with the broader AAPI community.

Bonus Treats: AAPI Snack Drops
Throughout the month, The Many kept the excitement alive with surprise AAPI snack drops in the kitchen. From seaweed chips and mochi to milk tea-flavored treats and Pocky, these small but meaningful moments gave everyone a chance to try something new—and maybe even spark a nostalgic memory for some.

A Celebration with Purpose
More than just a series of events, The Many’s AAPI Heritage Month programming reflected the agency’s broader commitment to celebrating diversity, fostering inclusion, and amplifying underrepresented voices in meaningful ways. Through food, music, art, and storytelling, the AAPI ERG turned cultural pride into an agency-wide movement—one that inspired curiosity, connection, and continued conversations well beyond the month of May.
As one team member put it: “It wasn’t just about heritage—it was about humanity.”
The Many’s celebration stands as a testament to how workplace culture can become a platform for real change, deep understanding, and joyful expression.
